The position, part-time at 0.2 FTE, focuses on enabling student growth through counselling services tailored for emotional regulation and social skill development. Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to foster a supportive school environment and contribute to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Your insights will also aid in connecting families with external support resources.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate individual and small-group counselling sessions
• Use culturally responsive and trauma-informed strategies
• Collaborate to promote student well-being
• Implement student support plans and document progress
• Support transitions for students and families
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in counselling psychology or equivalent
• Experience in elementary teaching and counselling
• Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration
• Valid BC Teaching Certificate & TQS card
• Ability to maintain confidentiality per school policies
