Position: Personalized Literacy Tutor with Orton-Gillingham Certification
Join our mission to enhance literacy skills as a Personalized Literacy Tutor using Orton-Gillingham techniques in Maple Ridge. Work closely with a young student to help them overcome learning challenges.

We are searching for a dedicated tutor with Orton-Gillingham training who can provide in-home tutoring for a Grade 1 student recently diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Your role will be to offer engaging, multisensory instruction that builds confidence and meets the student's specific learning needs. Adaptability and strong communication with parents are crucial in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate literacy skills and create personalized learning strategies

• Implement structured, multisensory Orton-Gillingham reading instruction

• Foster development in phonological awareness and reading fluency

• Track progress and adapt teaching methods as needed

• Maintain comprehensive lesson notes and communicate with parents

Requirements:

• Holder of Orton-Gillingham certification or equivalent

• Proven experience with students having dyslexia and learning differences

• Patient and positive demeanor that encourages learning

• Availability for flexible, in-home sessions (2-3 days/week)

• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and travel as needed
