Overview  Pitt Meadows Public Library – Temporary position as a Customer Services Assistant

Pitt Meadows Public Library.  Affiliation : CUPE.  Weekly Hours : 21.  Schedule :
Tue 12:30 pm – 8:00 pm;
Fri 9:30 am – 5:00 pm;
Sat 9:30 am – 5:00 pm.  Job Start Date :
September 8, 2026.  Job End Date :
March 13, 2027.  Pay :  Pay Grade  7;  Min Wage : $35.56 hourly;  Max Wage : $36.36 hourly.
Responsibilities   Provide exceptional customer service and deliver library and literacy programs and events.

Desire and experience in developing children, teen and adult programming
Proficiency in readers’ advisory, reference search strategy, and reference interview techniques
A solid work ethic and self-motivation
Knowledge of automated library systems
Curiosity and ability to work with and learn new technologies (e-readers, tablets, etc.)
A goal to strive for excellence
Computer experience with Microsoft Office and excellent keyboarding skills
Eagerness to grow skills, learn, and explore
Qualifications   Diploma in Library and Information Technology from a recognized institution
Up to six months of work-related and on-the-job customer service experience
Ability to plan, organize and deliver a variety of children, teen, adult and literacy programs
Additional Information   Candidate should be prepared for a busy schedule of programming and outreach
Valid British Columbia driver’s licence (minimum level ’N’) is required
