As part of the Fire Services Department, you will coordinate fire safety activities, conduct site visits, and recommend fire prevention measures to residents. Your responsibilities include preparing reports, attending events, and facilitating Fire Smart 101 sessions aimed at improving community awareness. Applicants should be prepared for significant public interaction and require strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate and coordinate Fire Smart activities and sessions
• Conduct research and site visits with Firefighters
• Promote fire safety at community events and trade shows
• Prepare correspondence, reports, and educational materials
• Engage with community members to raise fire safety awareness
Requirements:
• Post-secondary diploma in Forestry or related field
• Experience in wildfire management or Fire Smart initiatives
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to work independently and with diverse groups
• Proficiency in office software and presentation tools
Utilize your expertise in fire prevention and community engagement to enhance fire safety in Maple Ridge.
