Position: FireSmart Coordinator for Community Safety
Become the Fire Smart Coordinator in Maple Ridge, focusing on fire safety awareness and community engagement. Facilitate training sessions and coordinate activities to promote Fire Smart initiatives citywide.

This temporary full-time role within the Fire Services department requires a post-secondary diploma in Forestry or a related field. Responsibilities include researching and recommending fire safety practices to homeowners, conducting outreach sessions, and attending community events to promote fire prevention. Engage the public and develop effective educational materials while managing relations with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate Fire Smart 101 sessions for community awareness

• Conduct site visits and research for fire safety recommendations

• Prepare reports and correspondence related to fire prevention

• Attend community events and tradeshow exhibits

• Promote public education on fire and life safety topics

Requirements:

• Post-secondary diploma in Forestry or related field

• Experience in Fire Smart or wildfire management

• Knowledge of fire prevention and emergency preparedness

• Effective communication skills, both oral and written

• Ability to work independently and manage public interactions
