FireSmart Coordinator

Drive community fire safety initiatives as a Fire Smart Coordinator with the City of Maple Ridge. Promote fire safety awareness and facilitate educational programs throughout the city.

This temporary full-time role focuses on public education and community relations related to fire safety and Fire Smart activities. You will coordinate events, recommend fire safety measures to homeowners, and conduct research and site visits alongside firefighters. Facilitate engaging Fire Smart 101 sessions and attend community events to promote awareness of wildfire preparedness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate Fire Smart 101 educational sessions

• Conduct research and site visits with firefighters

• Coordinate promotional activities and community outreach

• Prepare reports and correspondence related to fire safety

• Participate in tradeshow and community events

Requirements:

• Post-secondary diploma in Forestry or related field

• Experience in fire prevention and public safety education

• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences

• Proficient in office software and presentation tools

• Valid driver's license for travel to rural areas
