Community-Focused FireSmart Coordinator

Join the City of Maple Ridge as a Fire Smart Coordinator, dedicated to enhancing fire safety awareness through community education and outreach. This role involves facilitating Fire Smart activities and training.

This temporary full-time position in the Fire Services department requires a diploma in Forestry or comparable experience. The Fire Smart Coordinator will engage with residents, conduct safety research, and provide guidance on fire prevention strategies. You'll also prepare educational materials and reports, ensuring effective communication with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Organize and coordinate Fire Smart educational activities

• Conduct public outreach and safety demonstrations

• Prepare necessary correspondence and reports

• Represent the City at public events and trade shows

• Collaborate with emergency management teams on preparedness

Requirements:

• Diploma in Forestry or relevant field

• Familiarity with fire safety and emergency management
