Emergency Preparedness Advisor

Advance the City of Maple Ridge's resilience initiatives as an Emergency Preparedness Advisor. Collaborate across departments to strengthen readiness, ensuring continuity of critical services during emergencies.

This full-time role requires expertise in emergency management and business continuity. You’ll support the development and implementation of strategies aligned with best practices, legislative requirements, and organizational needs. The Advisor plays a key role in building a culture of readiness while coordinating efforts with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide advisory support for emergency preparedness programs

• Support logistics and volunteer coordination during emergencies

• Develop and maintain continuity and organizational readiness plans

• Lead training and evaluation of exercises for readiness

• Conduct after-action reviews and identify improvement opportunities

Requirements:

• Degree in emergency management or a related field

• Minimum three years of experience in emergency management

• Professional certification in emergency management preferred

• Knowledge of business continuity and organizational resilience

• Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders in planning efforts
