FireSmart Awareness Coordinator

Position: FireSmart Awareness Coordinator Role
Be a key player in fire safety education as a Fire Smart Awareness Coordinator with the City of Maple Ridge. This temporary full-time role focuses on community engagement and fire prevention strategies.

You will facilitate Fire Smart educational sessions and work alongside Firefighters to promote fire safety awareness through community outreach. This position requires strong organizational skills to plan events and develop informative resources tailored for the public. Collaborative relationships with diverse groups are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate Fire Smart 101 educational sessions for residents

• Collaborate with Firefighters on site assessments

• Engage community members through public events and outreach

• Prepare clear reports and promotional materials on fire safety

• Foster effective communication with local officials and stakeholders

Requirements:

• Completion of a diploma in Forestry or related field

• Experience in fire safety, education, or wildfire behavior

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities

• Capacity to work independently and with varied audiences

• Proficiency in using software for presentations and documentation
