FireSmart Community Coordinator

Position: FireSmart Community Coordinator Role
Serve the City of Maple Ridge as a Fire Smart Coordinator dedicated to improving community fire safety and awareness. Lead educational programs and support fire prevention efforts.

This temporary full-time role centers on enhancing public knowledge about fire safety and Fire Smart initiatives. The coordinator will recommend safety measures, conduct research, and facilitate educational events, collaborating with firefighters. This position requires active engagement with the community through events and public relations activities, ensuring effective fire safety messaging.

Key Responsibilities:

• Organize and lead Fire Smart educational sessions

• Conduct site visits for fire safety assessments

• Prepare outreach materials and reports

• Promote community involvement in fire safety events

• Represent the City at tradeshow events

Requirements:

• Completed diploma in Forestry or relevant area

• Experience with fire prevention strategies

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Ability to work independently and engage with diverse groups

• Driver's license required for outreach travel
