Job Summary

Team
As a Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Clinician in Maple Ridge, you will provide counselling services to children, youth, and families, working in collaboration with community CYMH and Indigenous CYMH teams in the area.

Our CYMH team is comprised of master’s-level Clinicians, Psychiatric Nurse Clinicians, outreach support workers, and supportive team leaders. This team is also part of the local Integrated Child and Youth Team. We work alongside school districts, health partners, and Indigenous service providers to offer responsive and integrated care for children and youth experiencing mental health challenges. We support and empower team members to grow in their practice.

Role
As a CYMH Clinician on our team, you’ll provide direct clinical services including intake services, assessment, treatment, suicide risk assessment, safety planning, and crisis intervention for ages 0-18. You will work closely with team members, community agencies, schools, hospitals, and other ministry programs to provide comprehensive care, including individual, group and family therapy for children, youth, and families. You will have the opportunity to work with a supportive and passionate team to make a meaningful positive difference in the lives of children, youth, and their families facing emotional and behavioral challenges.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

• Master’s in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master’s level in a similar subject may be considered.
  • NOTE:
    
    If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES ). Youmust provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
• Minimum of one (1) year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

• Two (2) years or more experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
• One (1) or more years experience providing assessment and evidence based mental health therapies to children and youth with moderate, severe, or complex mental health needs, and their families.
• Applicants who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.
• Have completed a Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) practicum within the past two years.
• Have completed advanced training in suicide risk assessment and safety planning.
• Have completed foundational Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) training.
