A global manufacturer in Maple Ridge is looking for a red seal certified Journeyperson welder with CWB Welding Supervisor accreditation, to join our growing team. Tsubaki is undertaking a significant modernization, by adding CNC and robotic automation equipment, to improve our manufacturing capabilities in British Columbia. The facility is in the Ruskin area of Maple Ridge BC.
8-hr day shift Monday to Friday.
$38.00 to $45.00/hr. depending on experience.
Summary:
The Welder lays out and welds fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble hubs to sprockets and chain drums according to specifications on production work orders. Uses calipers and various measuring devices to check conformance of workpieces. In addition, the Welding Supervisor will oversee the other welder’s finished work and maintain the CWB paperwork to date.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Practices safe and good housekeeping procedures.
- Completes in-process inspection sheets, fills out daily time sheets.
- Checks sign board/routing sheet to ensure that previous operation has been completed.
- Brings material from queue area to machine.
- Move WIP to next operation’s queue area and move job tag to next operation’s signboard to ensure that operation is completed.
- Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly and welding.
- Lays out positions, aligns and fits components together.
- Sets up equipment and welds parts using arc, and gas welding equipment.
- Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling parts.
- Performs own quality check on welded product.
- Uses calipers to measure workpiece.
- Knows location and use of all tooling and measuring equipment used in the department.
- Understands operation and sequence of welds and can make standard set-ups by changing part position and conditions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience:
- Ability to perform basic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
- Reading and writing skills in English are necessary to perform the job.
- Interacting with Machinists and Machine shop experience is helpful.
