About the RoleWe are looking for a MACHINIST APPRENTICE for our toolroom/mold shop. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to learn manual precision machining and mold-component work in a real manufacturing environment. You will work alongside experienced machinists, learning manual milling, manual turning, drilling, surface grinding, deburring, polishing, inspection, and safe shop practice while helping build, repair, and maintain tooling and mold components.
We are open to candidates who are already registered as apprentices, as well as strong entry candidates with foundation or shop training. If you like careful work, measuring, drawings, and learning how precision parts actually get made, we want to hear from you.
Duties and Responsibilities- Assist with mold and tooling component machining, fitting, finishing, and repair.
- Learn manual milling, turning, drilling, and surface grinding.
- Use measuring tools to verify dimensions, fit, and surface finish.
- Perform deburring, chamfering, polishing, and other finishing work with care.
- Machine, fit, adjust, and rework mold and tooling components.
- Use measuring and inspection tools such as rules, vernier scales, calipers, gauges, micrometers, and dial indicators.
- Help keep machines, tooling, and benches clean, organized, and job‑ready.
- Follow safe work practices at all times.
- Has exposure to basic CNC concepts, offsets, simple code awareness, or machine setup support.
- Has completed high school or equivalent.
- Is currently registered as a machinist apprentice, or is ready to enter apprenticeship.
- Can read basic shop drawings and use measuring tools, or is eager to build that skill quickly.
- Has strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn.
- Can commute to work reliably.
- Values safety, quality, and teamwork.
