We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Surgical Services team at Ridge Meadows Hospital in Maple Ridge, B.C. You will provide nursing care in a close‑knit community setting.

Detailed Overview

Under the direction of the Manager, Clinical Operations or designate and in collaboration as part of a multidisciplinary team, the LPN performs assessments, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care in accordance with BCCNM competency guidelines and unit protocols.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patients, residents, and families for strengths and limitations across physiological, psychological, socio‑cultural, and spiritual needs.
  • Provide a supportive environment and promote involvement in health care decisions.
  • Contribute to individualized care plans and attend multidisciplinary planning meetings and family conferences.
  • Deliver nursing care according to policies, procedures, technology, and FHA standards and evaluate outcomes.
  • Perform admissions, discharges, and transfers according to agency policies.
  • Document and update all relevant care and procedure information.
  • Operate and maintain effective functioning equipment related to patient/resident care.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients/residents and staff.
  • Assist in orientation of new staff, students and other members of the Health Care Team.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement, education sessions, conferences, meetings, and committees.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Education and Experience
    • Graduate of a recognized practical nursing program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with BCCNM.
    Skills and Abilities
    • Effective verbal and written communication.
    • Capacity to deal with others effectively.
    • Ability to organize work and implement a plan of care.
    • Knowledge of full scope of practice as required by BCCNM, including medication administration.
    • Ability to operate related equipment.
    • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
