Salary: CAD $32.84 - $44.96 / hour.

Detailed Overview

Under the direction of the Manager, Clinical Operations or designate and in collaboration as part of a multidisciplinary team, the LPN performs assessments, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care in accordance with BCCNM competency guidelines and unit protocols.

Responsibilities

Assess patients, residents, and families for strengths and limitations across physiological, psychological, socio‑cultural, and spiritual needs.

Provide a supportive environment and promote involvement in health care decisions.

Contribute to individualized care plans and attend multidisciplinary planning meetings and family conferences.

Deliver nursing care according to policies, procedures, technology, and FHA standards and evaluate outcomes.

Perform admissions, discharges, and transfers according to agency policies.

Document and update all relevant care and procedure information.

Operate and maintain effective functioning equipment related to patient/resident care.

Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients/residents and staff.

Assist in orientation of new staff, students and other members of the Health Care Team.

Participate in continuous quality improvement, education sessions, conferences, meetings, and committees.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Graduate of a recognized practical nursing program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with BCCNM.

Skills and Abilities

Effective verbal and written communication.
Capacity to deal with others effectively.
Ability to organize work and implement a plan of care.
Knowledge of full scope of practice as required by BCCNM, including medication administration.
Ability to operate related equipment.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
