Position: Licensed Practical Nurse - Long Term Care| FULL TIME or CASUAL Agency Contract | BC
Licensed Practical Nurse - Long Term Care
Full time or casual agency contract, Maple Ridge, BC. $37.50/hour. 1-year LTC experience required. 8-12 hour shifts.

Qualifications

1 year minimum experience

Licensed Practical Nursing License in good standing with the Provincial College of Nurses

Current BCLS

Skills & Abilities

Patient care

Head to toe assessment

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

Patient/family education and instruction

Responsibilities

Plans and manages patient care according to each patient’s needs

Interviews patients and records their medical history and physical condition

Obtains patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration

Provides routine care for patients

Observes patients’ health

Reviews medical charts

Accompanies patients to their rooms

Assists physicians and registered nurses

Communicates with patients and their families

Performs standard diagnostic procedures including EKG, phlebotomy, venipuncture, PFT, and Doppler

Prepares specimens for lab courier

Administers medications

Provides wound care

Prepares and administers injections and/or enemas

Assists with patient comfort

Monitor catheters

Additional Duties

Responsible for maintaining care standards

Perform diagnostic tests

Communicate with doctors and residents to keep everyone updated on test results and treatment recommendations

Monitoring resident care

Conditions of Employment

Must comply with Human Resource, Corporation, and Department Policies

Must provide satisfactory vulnerable sector check

Must maintain Licensed Practical Nurse class license with the Provincial College of Nurses
