Position: Licensed Practical Nurse - Long Term Care| FULL TIME or CASUAL Agency Contract | BC

Licensed Practical Nurse - Long Term Care | Full Time or Casual Agency Contract | Maple Ridge, BC

$37.50 / hour

1 Year mandatory experience at LTC

8–12 hour shifts available

Full Time or Casual shifts available

Hero Care has a proven track record in providing contract and travel nurses with a variety of exciting, positive and unique working experiences. Our team is now expanding our staffing services to provide contracts to Licensed Practical Nurses across Canada.

Qualifications Necessary
  • 1 year minimum experience required
  • Licensed Practical Nursing License in good standing with the Provincial College of Nurses
  • Current BCLS
Skills & Ability
  • Patient care
  • Head-to-toe assessment
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Patient/family education and instruction
Basic Responsibilities
  • Plan and manage patient care according to each patient’s needs.
  • Interview patients and record their medical history and physical condition.
  • Obtain patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration.
  • Provide routine care for patients.
  • Observe patients’ health.
  • Review medical charts.
  • Accompany patients to their rooms.
  • Assist physicians and registered nurses.
  • Communicate with patients and their families.
  • Perform standard diagnostic procedures including EKG, phlebotomy, venipuncture, PFT, and Doppler.
  • Prepare specimens for lab courier.
  • Administer medications.
  • Provide wound care.
  • Prepare and administer injections and/or enemas.
  • Assist with patient comfort.
  • Monitor catheters.
Specific Duties
  • Responsible for maintaining care standards
  • Perform diagnostic tests
  • Communicate with doctors and residents to keep everyone updated on test results and treatment recommendations
  • Monitor resident care

  • Human Resource, Corporation, and Department Policies
  • Provide a satisfactory vulnerable sector check
  • Maintain a Licensed Practical Nurse class license with the Provincial College of Nurses
