Nurse in Psychiatry Unit

Position: Fraser Health Nurse in Psychiatry Unit
Join Fraser Health as a Registered Nurse in the Inpatient Psychiatry Unit and provide essential mental health care.

This role offers the opportunity to lead in crisis interventions and patient education.

As a Registered Nurse, you will coordinate psychiatric care as part of a dedicated interprofessional team. Your duties include conducting thorough assessments, supporting therapeutic programs, and advocating for patient autonomy and dignity. Contribute actively to improving nursing practices through quality initiative participation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement nursing care interventions as needed

• Support and enhance the Unit's therapeutic programs

• Communicate patient care plans with healthcare staff

• Educate patients and families on healthcare topics

• Participate in staff orientation and ongoing education efforts

Requirements:

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing

• Active RN or RPN registration with BCCNM required

• Understanding of substance use treatment and legislation

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
