Psychiatric Liaison Nurse

Join Fraser Health as a Casual Psychiatric Liaison Nurse in the Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows area. This vital role focuses on psychiatric assessments and crisis intervention in the Emergency Department.

The Psychiatric Liaison Nurse will work collaboratively in person-centered, recovery-oriented care. This position requires a range of skills, including crisis intervention, patient advocacy, and effective communication. With one year of experience in acute or community mental health, you play a crucial role in patient assessments and care planning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Screen psychiatric referrals and identify service priorities

• Perform psychosocial assessments for triaged patients

• Develop care plans approved by physicians and psychiatrists

• Provide crisis counseling and follow-up treatment

• Document assessments and maintain accurate electronic records

Requirements:

• Graduation from an approved school of Nursing

• Current BCCNM registration as a Registered Nurse

• One year of recent mental health experience

• Knowledge of psychopharmacology and patient care

• Ability to collaborate effectively with care teams
