Mental Health Nurse

Become a Mental Health and Substance Use Nurse with Vancouver Coastal Health in Maple Ridge, BC. Lead client-centered care, leveraging your expertise in mental health and substance use to improve patient outcomes.

This role as a Mental Health and Substance Use Nurse involves providing comprehensive care to clients with severe mental illness and concurrent disorders. You will work within a team to develop strength-based treatment plans and enhance clients' quality of life. Essential responsibilities include conducting assessments, administering medications, and collaborating with healthcare professionals while adhering to BCCNM standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized direct nursing care to clients

• Perform psychosocial rehabilitation assessments

• Develop and implement strength-based care plans

• Monitor client medication responses and educate families

• Maintain accurate and timely client records

Requirements:

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse or Psychiatric Nurse

• Minimum 240 hours of clinical practicum in mental health

• Knowledge of concurrent disorders and harm reduction

• Ability to manage conflict and deliver educational programs

• Skills in crisis intervention and documentation
