Objective of the Position:
This position directly reports to the Senior Manager of Production and is responsible to ensure that the frozen fruit product quality meets all regulatory and customer requirements including maintenance of the quality plan. This person must work closely with all departments within the plant to ensure that the product meets the requirements of regulatory agencies, customers, and 3rd party auditing agencies.
Responsibilities:
Preparing daily reports, samples, and work material for quality control team
Daily review of production grading records and food safety reports
Training and supervising of Quality Control technicians.
Reviewing and maintenance of existing and new product specifications.
Reporting on product grading and process quality as requested.
Conducting physical tests on raw material and finished product.
Checking incoming and final product in production, ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory and Silver Valley Farms standards.
Assisting quality team with issuing NCR?s and customer complaint investigations
Participating in HACCP team and product quality-oriented and food safety culture initiatives
Assisting quality team with monitoring and updating processes and SOPs
Assisting quality team in conducting investigations in response to customer complaints
Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in science preferably in Food Science/Technology/Microbiology or related discipline.
Minimum 3 years QA/QC experience in primary agriculture food manufacturing facility.
Experienced in internal auditing or 3rd party audits (e.g. GFSI, etc.).
Possesses strong computer skills (MS office applications such as Excel and Word).
Has good written and verbal communication skills.
Exhibits accuracy and attention to detail.
With high level of self-motivation and initiative.
