Retail Sales Manager – responsible for the overall management of the sales floor, ensuring store performance meets financial targets and delivering a superior customer and donor experience.

Primary Responsibilities
Store Performance
Ensure store performance meets financial targets and key metrics.
Monitor and set the pace of work, analyzing observations and key metrics.
Inspect sales floor for shop‑ability and merchandising standards.
Lead the generation of new Super Savers Club membership.
Prioritize and direct team member activity.
Leadership and Development
Lead, direct, and supervise supervisors and retail sales floor team members.
Plan staffing needs and coordinate recruitment, selection, and training.
Interact, train, coach, and counsel supervisors and team members, providing recognition and candid feedback.
Identify and develop high potential team members for supervisory and management positions.
Act as acting store manager in the absence of the store manager.
Retail and Operations
Schedule supervisors and team members for cash register, self‑checkout, and sales floor.
Ensure standards are met, inform team members of operating plan targets, and monitor sales and labor efficiency.
Manage space‑to‑sales for departments and categories using the Cat Max tool.
Receive and respond to customer questions, requests, and complaints.
Process exchanges, special customer needs, and team member purchases.
Leverage Voice of Customer program to improve satisfaction.
Implement sales and marketing promotions and programs.
Safety, Loss Prevention & Cash Control
Maintain a safe work environment through education and consistent follow‑up.
Partner with the store manager on safety issues and solutions.
Protect company assets and information, ensuring safe handling and security.
Manage cash and tender controls, perform morning accounting and banking procedures.
Promote loss prevention awareness by upholding procedures and policies.
What You Have
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Ability to observe, assess, and coach others.
Common‑sense understanding for executing instructions.
Reasoning and judgment in various situations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience
High school diploma; post‑secondary degree or diploma preferred.
Experience in sales‑floor supervision, cashier supervision, customer service management, or retail management.
Experience in a Savers production environment preferred; can be acquired on the job.
Physical Requirements
Frequent lifting of products Frequent reaching and handling of merchandise.
Dexterity required for complex hand‑eye tasks.
Continuous standing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting, and occasional kneeling.
Regular reading of written and electronic documents.
Effective verbal communication required.
Exposure to machinery, solvents, radiation, dust, and temperature fluctuations.
Ability to navigate a work environment with large machinery and uneven surfaces.
Occasional driving to bank or other stores for business purposes.
Adjustment to nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
