Description PLEA Community Services is currently seeking a Regular Full-Time Residence Coordinator for our Lighthouse team located in Maple Ridge, BC . The proposed start date is as soon as possible. This position requires BCGEU membership.
The Residence Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operations of the resource, provides ongoing supervision of staff and evaluates program policies.
Hours of Work: The usual hours of work in this position are Sunday to Thursday, based on a flextime scheduling arrangement, including days, evenings and weekends , of 40 working hours per week. Flextime scheduling arrangements allow employees to pick the start/end times of their shifts to meet client needs. The employee is required to remain at work during meal periods;
therefore, the employee will be paid during their 30-minute lunch break.
Scheduling is completed in consultation with the Program Manager approximately two weeks in advance. The position also includes an on-call component (to be on standby), requiring the Residence Coordinator to respond to emergencies when necessary and provide Youth Care Worker shift coverage when a replacement cannot be secured.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Two-year diploma in a related human/social work field.
Three (3) years recent, related experience including one (1) year supervisory or administrative experience.

What You Will Do:
Develop, implement and evaluate the resource's goals, objectives, policies and procedures and ensure the required standards are maintained. Identify both physical and program needs of the resource to appropriate authority. Plan with staff for changes.
Schedule, supervise and evaluate staff and monitor daily operations. Assist in recruiting and selecting of staff and provide guidance, training and orientation on policies, procedures, techniques, report preparation or other matters arising in the resource. Identify the needs of staff for professional development.
Provide leadership, guidance and participate with staff, families and others in planning and providing client plans, case conferencing, case management and the preparation of related documents and reports. Complete personal service plans for clients.
Liase with the coummunity, government, families, officials, professionals, and organization staff and promote community involvement in the program.
Ensure the cleanliness, safety, security and maintenance of the resource in accordance with licensing standards either directly or through delegation to staff.
Maintain the resource's inventory of supplies.
Work as a Youth Care Worker performing the duties as required.
Protect and uphold confidentiality.
Perform other duties as required.
