Join us as a Mechanical Properties Coding and Modeling technician, where you’ll put your love of science to work in the Scientific Insourcing Solutions division. You’ll receive all the training you need to successfully take on your new role and grow an exciting laboratory sciences career at Pace.

Overview

A candidate for this position should be familiar with mechanical properties testing including dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), Kolsky bar, tensile testing, lap shear, etc. The candidate will be developing and using Python and cloud based tools to process data.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for mechanical analysis by DMA, load frame, peel tester
• Analyze samples by DMA, load frame and peel tester - Analyze data sets using Python and cloud based tools developed on site
• Develop and modify Python and cloud based data analysis tools
• Follow standard formats procedures for analyzing samples and reporting data
• General lab maintenance duties

Requirements

• BS in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science & Engineering, or related field - or equivalent related experience
• Familiarity with Python in a scientific environment
• Good mechanical aptitude and sample manipulation skills
• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) would be preferred
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
