- Supporting the development and maintenance of existing & new products for aerospace sealants, structural adhesive pastes, and films within the Advanced Materials and Transportation Product Platform.
- Leading programs to improve quality, reduce costs, qualify alternate source-of-supply and expand product offerings to continue strong growth in the 3M Aerospace & Defense business.
- Leading, alongside cross‑functional team, key Change Management Projects (CMP) for existing products and product line extensions.
- Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) teams to drive implementation and launch.
- Supporting quality and plant team in customer complaint resolution and product & process understanding (PPU).
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in chemistry or an engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start)
- Three (3) years of Product Engineering and/or Product Development experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Materials, Polymer, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Five (5) years of product engineering, process engineering, project engineering, project management, and/or research laboratory experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
- Experience in the aerospace industry, material qualification processes in this regulated market.
- Interpersonal skills, including working with plant professionals, global laboratory, and business team personnel.
- Experience with curable materials, including adhesives and sealants and polysulfide, epoxy, and acrylic chemistry.
- Experience with coating processes, radiation processing, and/or extrusion processing.
- Experience in regulated product categories with expertise in product risk assessments, product safety, and product reliability.
- This role follows an on‑site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.
May include up to 10% domestic/international.

Compensation RangeApplicable to US Applicants Only:
The expected compensation range for this position is $164,612 - $201,193, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
