The Impact You’ll Make in this RoleAs a Paralegal supporting several Divisions within SIBG, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Additionally, supporting the Personal Safety Division (PSD), Industrial Adhesives and Tapes Division (IATD), and Industrial Solutions Division (ISD) within the Safety and Industrial Business Group (SIBG). Here, you will make an impact by:
- Working together with 3M attorneys to help fast‑paced, global 3M business units succeed, by understanding business needs and goals, identifying legal issues and obstacles, and counseling clients regarding legal risks, solutions, and alternatives.
- Providing advice at the direction of 3M attorneys on a wide range of commercial activities and customer issues.
- Developing and providing client training on legal and compliance topics.
- Identifying opportunities to help 3M businesses grow while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and 3M’s Code of Conduct.
- Working with others in 3M Legal Affairs on important department initiatives.
- Substantive areas of law may include product distribution and sale, advertising, promotions, sales/marketing, quality, social media, e‑commerce, product safety and hazard communication, regulatory compliance, product liability, contract law, and antitrust compliance.
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from (completed and verified before start).
- Two (2) years of corporate, law firm, non‑profit, and/or government experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
- Paralegal Certificate (completed and verified before start).
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed in this role include:
- In‑house experience in independently advising business clients.
- Business acumen and an ability to provide legal and compliance advice in the context of strategic business initiatives and goals.
- Demonstrated record of uncompromising honesty and integrity.
- Experience demonstrating a high level of competence in the areas of advertising and marketing, product regulatory law, legal compliance, and contract negotiations.
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate and relate at all levels of the organization, including business unit leaders, department leaders, and upper management.
- Results‑oriented approach, personal and organizational accountability, excellent project management skills, and a collegial work style.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively within a global team environment.
- High energy and dedication to responsive client service.

- Job duties require travel to 3M Center at least 4 days per week.
