Group Exercise Instructor

$24 per session and a Free YMCA Membership

Under the supervision of the Health and Wellness Director, the Group Exercise Instructor teaches a safe and effective class which promote total fitness development for members. The position is responsible for demonstrating YMCA leadership competencies to ensure the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester are conveyed.

• Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED.
• High level of attention to detail and quality of programming, service and facilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work with all ages of individuals and groups at all ability levels.
• Must possess and demonstrate excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, maturity and must be able to work independently.
• Possess and maintain current CPR/AED certification & Standard First Aid.
• Possess required certifications as prescribed by program.

• Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including demonstrating exercise movements, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
