Paratransit Bus Driver

Overview

We are currently on the lookout for an experienced Bus Driver to join our elite team in Maplewood, NJ. As a key member, you will be entrusted with ensuring safe and comfortable transportation for our passengers, while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.

• Position: CBA
• Starting pay: $18.81 for CDL Holders with Passenger Endorsement
• Starting pay: $16.76 for Non CDL Holders
• Sign-on Bonus: $2,000* (Terms apply; expires November 30, 2025)

• Vacation: up to 14 days per year
• Paid Sick Leave: 8 hrs monthly for full-time employees / 4 hrs monthly for part-time employees

• Safety-Focused Operations:
  Follow designated routes and schedules, adhere to safety protocols and traffic regulations.
• Passenger Care:
  Provide exceptional care and assistance for passenger boarding, riding, and disembarkation.
• Vehicle Vigilance:
  Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, report maintenance issues, and maintain cleanliness and readiness of safety equipment.
• Adherence to Protocols:
  Enforce seat belts, prepare for emergencies, and comply with regulatory mandates.
• Other duties as required

• 21 years or older
• Valid Driver's License for at least 3 years
• Valid CDL Class A or B with passenger and airbrake endorsement
• Minimum 3 years of driving experience (personal or professional)
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Flexible shifts or schedules as needed
• Subject to a DOT drug test and physical if applicable; DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits Schedule I drug use, including cannabis

• Work outside in varying temperatures and weather; up to 100% of work is outdoor, may work alone or in remote locations
• Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours); frequently walk on uneven or sloped surfaces
• Push/pull objects up to 50 pounds; lift up to 50 lbs; may kneel, bend, or crouch
• Navigate heavy traffic and tolerate dust, vehicle fumes, and noise
