The Controller will lead and oversee all aspects of the company’s accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance across financial systems and processes. They will partner with executive leadership to manage corporate financial activities, including internal and external reporting, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning. The role provides governance over internal controls, accounting policies, and operational procedures spanning the general ledger, inventory, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cost accounting.

The Controller will drive financial analysis and performance reporting, and coordinate the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to senior management.

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all functions
• Coordinate, prepare, and process monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close, including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and adjusting journal entries
• Support cost accounting functions such as job/work order revenue and COGS recognition, and work order P&L analysis until the Cost Accountant role is filled
• Monitor and analyze financial data to produce timely and insightful financial reports and statements for executive review
• Establish, implement, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls aligned with GAAP and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate and manage annual audits with external auditors, ensuring timely and accurate completion
• Provide strategic recommendations to executive leadership based on financial performance and operational trends
• Drive continuous improvement in financial systems and procedures, identifying and implementing corrective actions as needed
• Assign projects and oversee execution to ensure compliance, accuracy, and alignment with organizational goals
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth
• Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of fiscal records to support financial transactions and audit readiness
• Support ad-hoc financial reporting, analysis, and special projects as requested by executive management
• Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner and direct activities to maintain safe working conditions for all employees
