Job DescriptionMarana Health is seeking a Medical Administrative Clinician to join the Integrated Care Team at the Marana Main Health Center, located in Marana, Arizona. The Medical Administrative Clinician ensures continuity of patient care and improvement of patient outcomes by providing administrative support to the healthcare teams and delivering patient care when needed. The position will be supervised by the Chief Clinical Officer.
Marana Health is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), with 10 sites in the Greater Tucson area. Our mission is to improve our Community by providing exceptional, whole-person healthcare.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- degree in Family Nurse Practitioner from an accredited university and program
- Appropriate current license to practice in Arizona
- Board Certified in area of specialty
- Ability to obtain and maintain credentialing with accepted healthcare plans
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (may be completed with MHC upon hire)
- Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety (or ability to obtain upon hire)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Doctorate degree in Family Nurse Practitioner from an accredited university and program
- Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or Primary Health Care environment

Does not direct or supervise others.

- Highly proficient in diagnostic procedures and treatment of illnesses and injuries in an integrated primary care model focused on patients living in poverty or facing barriers to accessing care, such as a federally qualified health center.
- Knowledge of community and public health systems and issues.
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to deal tactfully and effectively with colleagues, patients, and the public.
- Excellent organization and time management skills with ability to manage competing demands and adapt to frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports continuity of care and clinician wellbeing by assisting with administrative tasks including ordering, reviewing, and following up on results, patient phone calls, referrals, prior authorizations, durable medical equipment (DME), and other tasks.
- Supports multiple sites with multiple clinicians and staff to ensure patient coverage as necessary.
- Provides coverage of desktop (inbox) and other patient management duties for absent or overwhelmed clinicians.
- Delivers comprehensive patient care in a variety of primary care settings and sites following supervision licensing requirements, if needed.
- Follows evidence-based guidelines to diagnose, treat, and monitor acute and chronic conditions.
- Identifies short- and long-term patient care issues to be addressed, providing pertinent information, and recommends options and course of action.
- Refers patients to specialty clinicians as needed, with appropriate documentation necessary to continue care.
Collaborates with other clinicians and staff in the care of patients.
- Responds to questions from patients, leadership, clinicians, managers, and members of the healthcare team.
- Diagnoses and treats common acute health issues, monitors chronic health issues, and develops and implements treatment plans.
- Collaborates with primary care clinicians as needed on complex, unusual, and high‑risk cases.
