What You Will DoThe Manager, Safety is responsible for fostering a culture of safety and ensuring the well-being of employees, Members, contractors, and the public. This role develops, coordinates, and implements comprehensive safety programs, policies, and training initiatives to maintain compliance and promote best practices across the organization. This position ensures the Cooperative meets all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations and standards, including OSHA, NESC, NFPA, NEC, FMCSA, and other compliance requirements as needed.
This position proactively identifies risks, conducts audits, and makes recommendations for improvements, including additional training, updated procedures, or enhanced equipment to safeguard personnel and operations. Additionally, the Manager will oversee the Safety Committee and provide direction, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and implementation of safety initiatives throughout the organization.
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in an electric utility environment.
- Valid Arizona driver’s license with the ability to travel as needed.
- Experience in overhead and underground line construction, troubleshooting, equipment, and operations.
- Certified Loss Control Professional (CLCP) designation or the ability to obtain certification within two (2) years of employment.
- CPR, First Aid certification and OSHA 30 HR for General Industry preferred, or ability to obtain within one (1) year of employment.
- Strongly preferred:
Previous experience with distribution power systems, such as working as a Journeyman Lineman, Journeyman Substation Technician, or equivalent role.
