Parts Specialist-1
O'Reilly Auto Parts is seeking a customer-focused Parts Specialist to join our team. The role involves providing high-quality service to retail and installer customers while supporting store management to deliver a positive retail experience.
Key Responsibilities- Follow and promote all company customer service programs (Hi-5, Low Price Guarantee, Rock the Call, Related Selling, Rock the Lot).
- Greet retail/walk‑in customers in a friendly, courteous manner and assist them in selecting merchandise.
- Assist managers and installer service specialists in serving professional customers.
- Complete assigned company training relevant to the position.
- Provide excellent phone service, accurately look up parts, quote prices, recommend premium and related items, and offer the Low‑Price Guarantee.
- Maintain and secure the cash drawer, accept cash/checks, make correct change, and process credit card transactions.
- Process exchanges and returns for credit in a friendly manner according to company policies.
- Address and resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
- Assist with completion of daily image maker and planogram updates, including freight receival, stocking shelves, fronting and facing, cleaning.
- Prepare new, core, and warranty merchandise returns for shipping to the distribution center, assist with monthly stock adjustments, inventory cycle counts.
- Operate brake lathe and other store test equipment after receiving training and meeting company requirements.
- Perform in‑store services for customers where state and local laws allow (install wipers, test and charge batteries, test charging systems, scan vehicle trouble codes, replace headlight capsules).
- Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle to make deliveries (driving record must meet company mandated requirements).
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
- Provide outstanding, friendly, professional customer service.
- Ability to multitask and handle customers on the phone and in the store simultaneously.
- Familiarity with automotive parts, cataloging, weatherly index system, automotive sales or service.
- ASE certification.
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
