Aircraft Mechanic I (AH-64), Marana, AZ
The AH-64 Aircraft Mechanic I (AH-64 Mechanic Specialty) troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing 100-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspections.
- Examining reciprocating engines for cracked cylinders and oil leaks, and listening to operating engine to detect and diagnose malfunctions.
- Inspecting jet engines and components for cracks, corrosion, foreign object damage, burned areas, distortions, security, warping, wear, and missing segments.
- Replacing or repairing worn or damaged components, such as carburetors, alternators, magnetos, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves.
- Adjusting, repairing, or replacing electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories.
- Performing preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections.
- Performing miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.
Minimum Requirements:
- Three (3) years aviation maintenance experience.
- Two (2) years rotary wing aircraft experience.
- Two (2) years on the assigned AH-64 (MDS).
- All experience must be within the six (6) most recent years.
- A valid up-to-date A&P license is preferred but not required.
- US Citizen.
- Ability to obtain/maintain Security Clearance (NAC-I T1) Public Trust.
- Tools are Required;
Must provide own tools/toolbox.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of equipment related to individual requirements (AH-64).
- Knowledge of military publications (including electronic manuals), drawings, blueprints, microfilm, diagrams, and schematics.
- Knowledge of military and/or company forms required by work specifications.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
- Must be able to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
- Frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 pounds.
- Occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds.
- Most heavy lifting is accomplished using mechanical devices.
- May work in Aircraft maintenance hangar or outside.
- May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft.
