Hourly Wage: $54.15 - $57.00

Hours worked beyond the normal schedule will be paid at 1.75 times the regular rate. Trico has a partnership with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) 1116. This partnership aims to ensure fair wages and working conditions for all involved.

What You Will Do

Are you ready to be part of a team that powers communities and drives innovation? At Trico Electric Cooperative, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Substation Technician to help ensure the safe and efficient operation of our electrical infrastructure. In this role, you will serve as a technical expert responsible for maintaining and repairing high-voltage substation equipment, inspecting transformers, and troubleshooting SCADA systems.

You will play a vital part in keeping power flowing reliably to the communities we serve, while working alongside a team that values safety, precision, and forward-thinking solutions.

What You Bring To Trico

  • A high school diploma or equivalent with the completion of a formal Journeyman Apprenticeship Program or minimum of 5 year’s work experience as a Substation Technician or in an acceptable technical field.
  • Valid Driver’s License and the ability to acquire a DOT Medical Card
  • Must be able to read, understand and draw electrical schematics (one-line and three-line diagrams).
  • Knowledge of system map books, and electric distribution system layout, system substation capacities and load areas, substation circuit feeds and general system sectionalizing.
  • Previous experience working with energized substations
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work overtime hours as needed, including on-call
