- Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
- Ensure the Franchise and Shaner Brand Standard and experience for guests.
- Adhere to policies of the facility, Franchise, and Shaner policies.
- Perform massage and body services that meet the established guidelines for the type of service offering and that fulfill guest expectations.
- Perform all treatments on services menu based upon current licensure.
- Assess contraindications of guest that may prevent service from taking place.
- Always meet the needs of the guest throughout the service.
- Understand and use universal precautions when providing services.
- Clean and disinfect all equipment.
- Maintain the highest level of product knowledge and have complete knowledge of all spa services presently offered. Understand the ingredients in products and can explain their benefits to guests. Answer guests' questions in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
- Recommend products for home use.
- Suggest other beneficial treatments offered in the spa.
- Ensure that work areas are clean and set according to procedures.
- Inform Lead Therapist and Spa Director or other management personnel about product needs.
- Create and maintain client cards and treatment notes, when appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
The Massage Therapist is responsible for providing massages and other body treatments to guests of our facility. The therapist should be able to create an environment of relaxation for the guests and provide experiences that create lasting memories for the guest.
Qualifications- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Valid state license in massage therapy or other credentials required by the state.
- Minimum one year customer service experience; previous spa experience preferred.
- Knowledge of professional spa services and treatments a plus.
- Previous massage and body work experience.
- Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co‑workers to their understanding.
- Must be able to build rapport with guest.
- Ability to explain various treatments/services to guests.
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills and work ethic.
- Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational.
- Professional manner, discretion, and appearance.
- Strong team player.
