Marina Supervisor
At Hawks Cay Resort, the Marina Supervisor is responsible for the operation of all wet services and dock management. They coordinate dockhands and helpers to ensure safe, smooth and effective wet slip docking, fueling, maintenance, and housekeeping, while instilling safe working practices and setting daily assignments and schedules for the team.
Responsibilities- Identify maintenance, repair and housekeeping needs; work with supervisors to set priorities and a schedule.
- Maintain accurate checklists and records of maintenance and repairs (fueling equipment, docks, piers, safety equipment, lights, bait equipment, etc.).
- Manage expense budgets for maintenance and operate within them.
- Maintain rental inventory for wet slips and retail inventories for fuel, ice, bait, oil.
- Maintain supply inventories for maintenance and cleaning supplies, bathroom supplies, tools, oil spill equipment and filters.
- Assist in special Marina functions such as tournaments.
- Manage Marina store duties including opening/closing, inventory assistance, and writing sales tickets.
- Operate VHF base radio communications.
- Execute hurricane, storm, fire, first aid, freeze and oil spill procedures; coordinate dockhand activities during these events.
- Ensure compliance with live bait keeping procedures and laws.
- Know harbor regulations, contractual provisions, enforcement policies; maintain working relationships with local Coast Guard and federal agencies.
- Assume additional responsibilities in the absence of the Marina Director.
- Train dock hands, fuel attendants and launch boat operators.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Marina Director/ Dockmaster.
- Ability to swim; knowledge of man‑overboard procedures; CPR and basic first aid trained.
- Pleasant personality and ability to work with customers, colleagues and local law enforcement.
- Minimum one year of experience working at a large‑scale luxury marina.
- Proficiency in handling boats.
- Cell phone for emergency contacts.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 25 lbs.
40 to 50 hours per week, depending on the season. Normally works weekends and holidays; on call for all emergencies and storms.
