• Follow directions and meet the expectations of the supervising teacher/specialist/administrator
• Be familiar with student IEPs and able to implement specialized instruction as well as social-emotional and behavioral strategies under the direct supervision of the special education teacher/specialist
• Implement de-escalation strategies, behavior plans, and collect behavior data with the training and support of the special education teacher and staff
• Be child-centered
• Collaborate and communicate regularly with teachers/supervisors/specialists as requested by the supervising teacher
• Maintain student confidentiality at work and after hours at all times
• Understand the range of disabilities within a classroom and ask for information if particular disabilities are not understood
• Carry out other related special education duties as may be assigned by their supervisor(s), which may include toileting and other ADL skills
