About the Role

As a Supply Science Teacher, you will deliver engaging and well‑structured lessons across KS3 and KS4. You will bring secure subject knowledge, adaptability, and a calm, professional presence to the classroom. Your teaching will help students build confidence in core scientific concepts, develop practical lab skills, and apply scientific thinking to real‑world issues. You will establish clear routines quickly, promote purposeful learning, and inspire students to enjoy and appreciate the value of Science.

Your work will support the school’s commitment to high‑quality teaching and a broad, ambitious curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver clear, engaging Science lessons aligned with KS3 and KS4 curriculum requirements
  • Support students in developing strong scientific understanding, practical skills, and analytical thinking
  • Follow school policies, lesson plans, and established departmental schemes of work
  • Maintain a calm, organised, and purposeful classroom environment
  • Encourage curiosity, problem‑solving, and a positive approach to scientific enquiry
  • Provide targeted support for students who need help with confidence, comprehension, or behaviour

  • Promote high standards in practical work, written tasks, and independent learning
What We’re Looking For
  • QTS or relevant secondary Science teaching experience (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or General Science)
  • Strong classroom management and confident communication skills

  • Genuine passion for Science and supporting young people’s academic growth
