Tobesuccessfulasan Employee Relations Specialist AVP,youshould have:
- HR professional with strong Employee Relations experience.
- Abilitytobuildawidenetworkacrosstheorganization,comfortablynavigatingambiguityandinteractingwithcolleaguesatalllevelsoftheorganization.
- Ability to manage a high volume of ER Cases/workplace matters.
- Anunderstandingofemploymentlegislation;familiarity with
UKemploymentlawandrequirementswithrespectto
UKConduct
Rules.
Someotherhighlyvaluedskillsmayinclude:
- Prior Employee Relations experience .
- Abilitytobalancecommercialgoalswithlegalrisk.
- Proven track record of giving technical, commercial and strategic advice.
- Relevant experience of managing complex high-risk cases across a number of topics e.g. disciplinary, capability and grievance, and investigating matters where relevant.
- Ability to analyse data to identify thematics and implement strategic initiatives.
- Previous experience in designing and delivering Manager training.
- Experiencewithlarge-scaleprogramsandprojects,includingorganizationalchangeefforts.
- Evidencedmaturityinhandlingofsensitivepersonalmatters.
- Outstandingwrittenandverbalcommunication,includingtheabilitytoinfluenceothersanddistilinformationintokeymessages.
- Proventeamplayerandmotivatedself-starterwiththeabilitytomulti-taskinafast-paced environment.
Youmaybeassessedonthekeycriticalskillsrelevantforsuccessinrole,suchasriskandcontrols,changeandtransformation,business acumen,strategic thinking,and digital/ technology,aswellasjob-specifictechnicalskills.
Thisisafull time contract role ending in March 2027basedin
Glasgow office.
To develop, implement, and maintain the employee relations policies and procedures of the business. This includes ensuring that policies are compliant with all applicable laws and regulations, and that they align with the overall business strategy and values.
Accountabilities- Employee relations policies and procedures development, implementation, and maintenance, aligning these to all applicable laws, regulations and the overall business strategy.
- Collaboration with other HR departments to ensure that all policies are integrated and consistent.
- Guidance for HR teams on interpretation of employee relations policies.
- Employee relations training programmes, including, including development, implementation and monitoring.
- To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions/ business divisions.
- Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function. Set objectives and coach employees in pursuit of those objectives, appraisal of performance relative to objectives and determination of reward outcomes
