Fenland Group Practice is seeking a dedicated and experienced Treatment Nurse to join our friendly and professional team. This is a multisite role, and the successful candidate must be flexible and willing to work across all of our practice locations as needed.
Please note:
the role requires availability to work all day on Fridays.
- Wound care and dressings
- Venepuncture
- Administration of injections and vaccinations
- ECGs and other clinical monitoring
- Assisting with minor procedures
- Health promotion and patient education
- Supporting chronic disease management under the direction of GPs and Nurse Practitioners

Jobresponsibilities
Clinical Duties:
Perform treatment room procedures including:
- Wound care and dressings
- Venepuncture
- ECGs
- Administration of vaccinations and injections (e.g., influenza, B12, travel)
- Removal of sutures and clips
- Assist GPs and Nurse Practitioners in the management of chronic diseases such as diabetes, COPD, and hypertension
- Provide smoking cessation advice and general health promotion
- Support cervical cytology clinics (if trained and up-to-date)
- Ensure accurate documentation of all clinical care within patient records
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times
Team working and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with the wider clinical team to support patient care
- Participate in clinical meetings and ongoing training sessions
- Communicate effectively with patients, carers, colleagues, and external agencies
Professional Development:
- Maintain personal NMC registration and participate in annual appraisals and CPD
- Keep up to date with current practices and policies within primary care nursing
- Attend mandatory training sessions as required
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC PIN
- Experience in a primary care or treatment room setting
- Competent in core treatment room procedures (e.g., wound care, venepuncture, injections)
- Good IT skills, including experience using System one
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Willing and able to work across multiple sites
- Must be available to work full days on Fridays
