About the Role

As a Supply Sports Coach, you will be actively involved in delivering and supporting PE lessons and a range of sporting activities across KS3 and KS4. You'll help lead exciting, structured sessions that boost students' fitness, teamwork, confidence, and motivation. You may also support extracurricular sports clubs, team training sessions, and school fixtures. A key aspect of the role may involve supporting students who require additional encouragement or guidance to engage positively.

You will help them stay focused, calm, and motivated, encouraging routines that support emotional regulation, confidence, and effective participation. Your role is essential in creating a safe, positive, and structured space where all students feel confident taking part and progressing at their own pace. This opportunity is ideal for someone enthusiastic, patient, and adaptable, who genuinely enjoys helping young people develop physically, socially, and personally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of PE lessons and varied sports activities across KS3 and KS4
  • Lead warm‑ups, drills, and small group coaching to develop skills and confidence
  • Encourage teamwork, resilience, and positive attitudes to physical activity
  • Help students stay focused, engaged, and motivated during lessons
  • Prepare equipment and maintain safe, organised activity spaces
  • Provide additional support or guidance for students needing extra motivation
  • Contribute to a positive, student‑focused school culture
  • Promote healthy lifestyle habits, wellbeing, and character development through sport

  • Experience working with children or young people (ideally in a sports or coaching capacity)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and inspire
  • Confidence supporting behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement

  • Coaching qualifications are desirable but not essential
