As the Aquatics Coordinator, you will play a key leadership role in strengthening our swim lesson program, supporting staff development, and ensuring a high-quality experience for members of all ages.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direction, scheduling, and supervision for all swim lesson programs
• Develop and expand aquatics programs and services based on community needs
• Strengthen partnerships to position the Y as a trusted aquatic resource
• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise lifeguards and swim instructors
• Lead monthly in-service trainings to ensure quality and safety
• Oversee daily pool operations including equipment maintenance and water chemistry monitoring
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and ensure compliance with all state and local regulations
• Conduct ongoing evaluation of staff, programs, and services with frequent check-ins
• Attend weekly staff meetings and work closely with branch peers to elevate the Aquatics Department
• Develop, manage, and monitor departmental budgets
• Maintain the highest level of courtesy, friendliness, and service for members, visitors, and staff

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in aquatics or program leadership
• Current Lifeguard or Swim Instructor certification
• Strong understanding of public pool operations, safety standards, and regulatory compliance
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
