ASAP Long established engineering firm seek a skilled Mechanical Designer to join the team. Working for a firm who design and manufacture electro-mechanical devices in the UK, you will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in designing and developing innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges. This role requires proficiency in various design software and tools, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.

Responsibilities Develop detailed mechanical designs and schematics using CAD software, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Utilise Solid Works and other design tools to create 3D models and assemblies. Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve design issues effectively. Collaborate with engineers and technicians to integrate logic controllers into mechanical systems. Perform simulations using MATLAB and Simulink to validate design concepts.

Apply GD&T principles to ensure accurate specifications and tolerances in designs. Qualifications - Mechanical Designer Proficiency in CAD software, particularly Solid Works, is essential.

Experience with Lab View for system integration is advantageous. Strong understanding of mechanical principles and components. Familiarity with root cause analysis techniques is preferred. Knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink for modelling and simulation tasks is beneficial. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately. The role will suit individuals currently working as Mechanical Designer and be living within a commutable distance of Kent Commutable from Ramsgate, Margate, Dover, Canterbury, Whitstable or be willing to relocate.
