Weare seeking an experienced Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our busy
Pre-Assessment and Outpatient Department in our local private hospital.
Thisvaried role suits a friendly, flexible team player with strong communication skills, working closely with Nurses and Consultants to support patients through elective surgery and outpatient care.
Key Responsibilities
Support patients inpre-assessment and outpatient clinics
Independently perform ECGs,venepuncture, blood pressure monitoring and observations
Assist Consultants duringclinics and minor procedures
Manage clinics, act as achaperone and use hospital IT systems accurately
Clean, decontaminate and maintain equipment, including nasendoscopes
Maintain clean, well-stockedclinical areas
Deliver high-quality,patient-centred care

Experienced HCA confident indiagnostics
Professional, respectful and an excellent communicator
Strong IT, organisational andtime-management skills

Main duties of the jobSupport patients attending Pre-Assessment and Outpatient clinics
Performclinical diagnostics independently, including ECGs, venepuncture and blood pressure monitoring
Assist Consultants during outpatient and minor procedure clinics
Manageclinics efficiently and support patient flow
Actas a chaperone in line with policy
Clean,decontaminate and maintain flexible nasendoscopes and other specialist equipment with Tristel systems
Accurately use hospital IT systems and maintain patient records
Communicate effectively with patients,relatives and the multidisciplinary team
Demonstrate professional interpersonal behaviour and contribute to a positive team environment

Job responsibilities- Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients, maintaining dignity, privacy, and respect always.
- Assist patients with personal care, mobility, and activities of daily living, promoting independence where appropriate.
- Undertake and accurately record routine clinical observations (e.g. blood pressure, pulse, temperature, urinalysis, height, weight, BMI, glucose monitoring) and promptly upscale abnormal results to registered staff.
- Carry out delegated clinical and diagnostic procedures within own competence and training, including specimen collection, venepuncture, ECGs, wound care, pre-assessment diagnostics, and assistance in procedure clinics.
- Assist with medication-related activities (including eye drops and medication storage) strictly in accordance with training, competency assessments, and local policy.
- Perform High Level Decontamination of Scopes in line with training and competence
- Work within Outpatients and Pre-Assessment
- Experience in the provision of care to individuals in an outpatient working environment
- Ability to record and document medical records
- Ability to follow clinical policy and procedures

£25,164.07 to £27,334.40 a year dependent upon qualifications and experience
