Vehicle Exchange Manager – Automotive

Job Responsibilities

A Vehicle Exchange Manager engages service customers to present offers for upgrading their current vehicle, focusing on high-equity or aged cars, working with sales/service teams to hit targets, appraising vehicles, explaining benefits, facilitating smooth transitions to sales, and maintaining CRM records, essentially acting as a bridge between service satisfaction and new/used vehicle sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Engagement:
    Approach service customers, build rapport, understand needs, and identify upgrade opportunities.
  • Vehicle Evaluation:
    Has trade-in vehicles appraised, assess equity, and determine eligibility for exchange programs.
  • Offer Presentation:
    Present tailored, compelling upgrade offers, highlighting benefits of newer models or CPO vehicles.
  • Sales

    Collaboration:

    Work closely with service advisors and sales consultants to ensure seamless handoffs and maximize sales.
  • Product Expertise:
    Maintain deep knowledge of current vehicle inventory, features, and promotions.
  • Sales Targets:
    Consistently meet monthly exchange and sales goals.
  • Data Management:
    Accurately log customer interactions and data in the dealership's CRM system and Autoalert system.
  • Follow-Up:
    Conduct timely follow-ups to nurture leads and close deals.
Key

Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong automotive sales/customer service background.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Consultative selling approach.
  • Proficiency with dealership management systems (DMS) and CRM software.
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills/Qualifications
  • Successful track record in Internet sales, auto dealership business development centers or Internet sales department management
  • The ability to manage high call volumes, internet leads and call lists simultaneously
  • Overall knowledge of automotive sales and service department operations
  • Strong organizational skills and leadership abilities
  • Familiarity with dealership CRM and DMS systems
  • Experience in training teams and individuals preferred
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Basic computer skills
  • Dealership BDC experience
  • Must have valid driver's license
Compensation

Compensation is based on experience and commensurate with Fortune 500 companies.
