Senior Construction Materials Field Technician

ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a talented and certified Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Senior Field Technician to join our Atlanta team. In this role, you ll collaborate with experienced project management professionals to safely perform a variety of tasks in the Field Services department, and you will have opportunities for professional development and advancement.

  Activities:
  
  Perform observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placement on construction sites; execute tasks based on project requirements under the guidance of senior technicians, staff professionals, and project managers.
• Testing Procedures:
  Conduct routine field tests for soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placement using various methodologies and testing equipment following industry standards and compliance.
• Data Collection:
  Perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling, test results, and inspections; develop skills in documentation and prepare field reports that document site observations for field work performed.
• Communication:
  Maintain daily communication with site contractors, other technicians, and project managers; inform supervisor and project teams of changing site conditions and additional testing requested; attend project meetings with senior staff as requested.
• Training and Development:
  Receive training in ECS methodology for project observations, inspections, and testing; document findings with precision in accordance with accepted engineering practices.

• 2+ years of related experience.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Must have and be willing to maintain current basic level certifications and an additional 2 advanced certifications.
• OSHA 10 is a plus.
• Physical ability to carry 40 - 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lift up to 85 lbs to waist height.
• Valid driver s license and insurance; suitable transportation for use on job sites with mileage reimbursed.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing); good understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively with clients, peers, and supervisors; proficiency with electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops); strong math skills to read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans; basic knowledge of MS Office.
