Job SummaryThe Executive Director Architecture Planning/Design will oversee the planning, design, and implementation of Wellstar building architecture/design and civil engineering projects. This role is responsible for identifying renovation requirements, determining specifications, designing structures, layouts, building systems, and landscaping. They are responsible for solving planning/design construction problems, development budgets and timetables, selecting and supervising staff as needed. They are responsible for monitoring results and comparing to original specifications and approved designs.
CoreResponsibilities And Essential Functions
- Leadership and Team Management:
Establish a high‑performing design and services management team. - Maintain a schedule of procurement activities.
- Plan goal‑setting, process, and priority setting.
- Coaches and empowers team members and offers constructive feedback.
- Monitor team performance & develop solutions to optimize the process and streamline timelines.
- Ensure all documentation is stored in the Well Star project data system(s).
- Strategic Planning:
Manage system administrative space requests and own floor plans for both clinical and administrative. - Bidding of architectural, engineering, and design services for all Design and Construction and Facility Engineering managed projects.
- Serve as the Architectural Interiors expert within the region; stay current on products, trends, and changes as they relate to interiors.
- Identify construction and renovation requirements and ensure they meet all Well Star standards and code requirements as applicable.
- Develop architectural concept approvals by interviewing clients, studying preferences, requirements, codes, environment, and community; developing concepts; presenting sketches and models.
- Budget Management:
Develop project budgets and schedules by costing requirements, calculating construction sequences and timing. - Report out on all projects as needed, with a minimum monthly update.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all Well Star Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s in General or Bachelors Architecture (Preferred).
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
Required Minimum Experience- Minimum 5 years of Architectural Drafting, Architecture, or related discipline.
- Healthcare experience in this area – Highly Preferred.
