Assistant Teacher – Primrose School of East Cobb at Sprayberry

As an Assistant Teacher at Primrose School of East Cobb at Sprayberry you’ll create a fun, safe environment with a daily schedule designed to develop children’s confidence and independence. Our teachers help guide infants through preschool age children through small group instruction as they grow their ability to absorb new content and understand increasingly complex information.

• Hourly compensation of $14.50 to $16.00, depending on experience and education
• Set schedule Monday–Friday: 8:00 am–5:00 pm or 9:00 am–6:00 pm
• No weekends, nights or holidays
• PTO: 40 hours = 1 year, 80 hours = 2‑5 years, 120 hours = 5+ years

• Must meet basic requirements of GA Bright From the Start (pre‑certification)
• Previous experience as a teacher in licensed early childhood education, PreK, preschool, day‑care center, or education preferred
• Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs in connection with handling of children and emergencies

• Overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children
• Maintain an attractive, well‑kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
• Provide verbal recognition and acceptance to children while setting clear and consistent expectations for behavior.
• Observe all rules and regulations at Primrose School of East Cobb and at the local, state, or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children in daycare or childcare center.
• Work with co‑teacher to implement lesson plans from the research‑informed Balanced Learning® curriculum.
• Help children learn about language and literacy, science, life skills, and more.
• Discover what works best for each child as you teach them about the world around them.
