The mission of Girls Inc. of Greater Atlanta is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Our comprehensive approach to whole girl development equips girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers and grow up healthy, educated, and independent. Informed by girls and their families, we also advocate for legislation and policies to increase opportunities for all girls and address the systemic barriers that impede girls’ success.

Job Summary

The Program Facilitator facilitates Girls Inc. programming at one of our multiple program sites, including center‑based, school‑based, and weekend programs. She is a role model and mentor to girls, promotes their well‑being, development, confidence, and success, and motivates and inspires girls to be active participants in program activities. She promotes long‑term participation in Girls Inc. and provides evaluation and feedback to ensure program relevance for girls.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Prepare and teach research‑based, age‑appropriate programs and curricula using programming developed by Girls Inc.
  • Provide high quality, comprehensive Girls Inc. experience and programs to girls in school settings.
  • Work with partner schools to gain student record information such as attendance, behavior, and academic information.
  • Design and implement mission‑related activities and events.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and attention to quality in all aspects of program delivery and work in general.
  • Maintain positive outcomes and program/concept comprehension from girls.
  • Prepare program goals and objectives around signature GI programs, which will be approved before implementation and evaluated at end of each session by the Program Director.
  • Ensure program goals and outcomes are evaluated, analyzed, and formally reported each semester.
  • Collaborate with other youth and human‑serving organizations to develop and implement quality programming as needed.
  • Participate in conferences, forums, and workshops that support professional development and expand skills and knowledge base in the various areas of youth development.
  • Remain current on issues related to girls and children.
  • Operate in accordance with the policies and procedures of Girls Inc.
  • Work cooperatively with other staff and supervisors.
  • Participate in staff meetings and peer work groups to share ideas and concerns and work collaboratively with other staff to meet agency and program area goals.
  • Uphold rules and safety regulations when working at a center, school, or outreach site.
  • Provide timely responses to all requests for information and meet all deadlines provided.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
  • Associate’s degree.
  • 21 or older, clean driving record.
  • Capable of driving 15 passenger van.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience working in a youth organization or a related field.
  • Experience working with girls ages 6‑18.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with children and to foster their engagement in problem‑solving and decision‑making.
  • Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff and volunteers, and to facilitate collaboration among people with diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
  • Flexibility in hours and ability to problem‑solve.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work effectively with minimal direct supervision.
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Teaching skills and/or experience.
  • Highly organized, technologically proficient, and creative.
  • Bilingual Spanish a plus.

Pay

$17.00 – $22.00 per hour
