Location:

1772 Johnson Ferry Rd, Marietta, GA, 30062.

Pay range: $40,000-$50,000.

The School Counselor supports the social‑emotional and academic well‑being of students across all grade levels. Through a combination of individual counseling, small group sessions, and classroom guidance lessons, the counselor helps students develop critical skills in emotional regulation, empathy, and responsible decision‑making. The role involves close collaboration with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure every student receives the support they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

• Develop and implement classroom lessons that promote self‑awareness, conflict resolution, and peer relationships.
• Conduct individual and small group counseling to address social, emotional, and academic challenges.
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to support a positive and inclusive school climate.
• Plan and coordinate school‑wide activities that align with character education and student well‑being.
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation while respecting student confidentiality.
• Communicate effectively with families and provide resources or referrals as needed.
• Attend school functions and support community engagement initiatives.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in school counseling.

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Education, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Previous experience working in a school setting required (3–5 years preferred).
• Knowledge of and experience with social‑emotional learning (SEL) programming and classroom guidance.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with students, staff, and families.
• Proficiency with technology and digital communication tools.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest professional standards.
• Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship.

This position may require the employee to frequently walk, stand, sit, squat, stoop, reach, kneel, rise from the floor, twist, listen, read, write, and speak English. The position often requires the employee to carry, lift, use repetitive or fine hand movements, and occasionally push, pull, or bend.
