Location:

Marietta, GA. This role prepares instructors to meet customer expectations and serves as a stepping stone toward future management opportunities.

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 energetic elementary students. Guide activities, keep students engaged, and redirect behavior as needed.
• Fulfill the responsibilities of top instructors and assist in the training, development, and coaching of other instructors.
• Assist local Area Manager in ensuring programs and instructors are visited by management for coaching, customer conversations, and quality control.
• Assist with training, coaching, and performance evaluation of instructors.
• Troubleshoot and resolve program challenges; complete class evaluation reports and discuss with supervisor.
• Communicate daily with supervisor during programming season; speak with school administration and parents during site visits; gather feedback and assist with customer service and marketing efforts.
• Maintain standard professional communication practices; arrive on time, prepared, and ready to engage students.
• Lead Teacher Trainers are the first scheduling choice for day camp opportunities during winter, spring, and summer breaks.

• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience working with groups of children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp counseling, or similar).
• Strong grasp of chess fundamentals; ability to clearly explain piece movement, basic strategy, and simple tactics in an age-appropriate way.
• Ability to reach most or all classes in the metropolitan area; reliable transportation is essential.
• Experience leading classes for 10–15 elementary students.
• Must be available during after-school hours at least 4 days per week; preference for 5 days per week during peak program weeks (fall, winter, spring).

• Questionnaire:

• Competitive Pay: $65 - $85 per class (typical class time ~1.5 hours including pre-class setup, instructional time, and post-class responsibilities).
• Travel Compensation:
  Mileage reimbursement for trips over 15 miles one way (30 miles roundtrip). Work locations are assigned by the manager based on available schools and classes in your area.

This position is based in Marietta, GA
. Relocation assistance is not provided. Candidates must reside in the area or relocate at their own expense.
